The number of fatalities due to the transport jet which ignited and went down has reached 13, per recent reports.

Mayor's Announcement

While en route to the Teamsters’ memorial service, I received word of a thirteenth victim that died as a consequence of the aircraft incident,” stated the municipal leader in a public communication. “My thoughts are with the families, companions and colleagues of all who were killed in this week’s disaster. We will endure this as one.”

Victims Confirmed

“Our sympathies are extended to all UPSer who has been touched and everyone in our Louisville area – helping you and guaranteeing you receive the support and aid you need is our main concern,” the organization’s communication stated.

Probe Updates

National officials disclosed that the UPS cargo plane’s left wing ignited and an motor fell off shortly after liftoff from the Louisville Muhammad Ali international airport, causing the plane to crash and erupt into a fireball.

The safety agency has said it is examining the aircraft’s service record, which was in Texas for fixes a period before the crash.

Flight tracking information showed the jet was on the tarmac in the Texas city from 3 September to last week.

“We are aware that this plane was located in San Antonio,” stated an NTSB member on the following day, not giving a specific date range. “We will review all elements of repairs that was done, from the Texas time, all the way to the date of the flight.”

Retrieval of Critical Evidence

The audio device and flight data recorder were found, and the motor was discovered on the airfield.

The recorders – known as flight recorders – were designed to survive accident forces and extreme heat from infernos, and they appeared to be intact when discovered among the crash debris. Officials intend to examining recordings from the black boxes.

Jet’s last flight details displayed an altitude of that level and a velocity of 210 mph prior to the crash.

Repair History

According to Federal Aviation Administration records from last month, a crack on a part in the fuel container needed repairs.

The company ST Engineering, which indicated it offers aircraft servicing for the company’s jet and runs a repair facility in that city, declined to provide remarks, but said it would cooperate fully when officials approached it.

Services Restart

In the meantime, UPS Worldport activities continued last night with its overnight or night sort process, representative Jim Mayer stated. All three runways at Louisville Muhammad Ali international airport were also back in operation.

The sorting center in this location is the company’s biggest. The hub employs in excess of 20,000 individuals in the locality, processes three hundred trips per day and sorts over 400,000 packages an hour.

Public Support

A memorial was held on the night of 6 November by the area Teamsters Union, which supports staff at the aviation hub, the organization’s primary freight center.

Worker representatives, which supports UPS workers, started the memorial with a moment of silence at that time, the rough moment of the accident two days earlier.

“This incident was so abrupt, so unexpected,” the official spoke to the crowd of two hundred. “No one had a moment to say goodbye to each of those who we have lost.”
